I always come back from our annual trip to the Zielke cabins in Wisconsin feeling more in love with my family (immediate and extended) and in awe of the beauty of God’s creation. And as much as I hate to admit it, more rested from being unplugged from technology (though we did use Dad Z’s phone as a hotspot for WiFi this year!)
And I always come back feeling more appreciative of indoor plumbing.
And so we took our annual trip up to the Zielke cabins in northern Wisconsin.
Both boys tubed, and really loved the water. They have been asking for days to go back to Corny. The night we left Trevor said, “I want to live in Corny forever with Grandpa!” and prayed that night that we wouldn’t have to leave and God would make us forget in the morning that we were supposed to leave. :)
Michael really did everything on this vacation. He swam with the boys, got up with the boys, put the boys to bed, bathed the boys, everything. He really is the greatest dad I could have for my children!
Over fourth of July we spent time with the Zielkes at their cabins in Wisconsin. It has become sort of a tradition for us- I think at least for the past 3 years. Michael’s Uncle Don, from TX, came up as well-but I think he was in weather shock! It was 50/60 degrees and rainy a lot of the time. A couple of the last days were warm and sunny, so you could find us all flocked by the lake to soak up what sun we could. Fireworks on the beach were great!
(In the slideshow you’ll see a long strand of pictures of the boys on the pier with Brian and Emily- I know there are a lot…but I really liked the whole sequence together! :) )
We found two dogs in downtown (haha, downtown :) )Cornucopia. The boys kept calling the golden, “Wrigley” in tribute to my sisters’ golden. There was a cute little boxer/lab mix puppy that I wanted to take home with me. They loved her too :)
My parents and the Musfeldts made an appearance this past weekend and we all went to the Cubs game together in Dr. Chuck’s and Nanna Nu’s skybox. :) Thank you Musfeldts!
While my parents were here we went to visit my Great Grandma, the boys Great Great Grandma! What a neat thing for the boys and myself to know so many generations of family. We feel blessed!
The boys and I went with Michael's parents, and his brother and sister-in-law to their cabins in Wisconsin this past week. Michael drove up for the holiday weekend. I am very thankful for my husband- it was a breath of fresh air when he got there to help me man the boys!
